Your Low Carb Keto Health Journey

We take a person-centred approach to care. Each person is different, and their health conditions will affect them differently, so everybody's journey will be unique. We listen, we monitor your health, and we will never try to fit you into a box.

Whatever your low carb keto health journey looks like, you can also choose to work with a lifestyle coach throughout the process. They will help you with practical advice and motivation to help you make lifestyle adjustments and stay on track to a healthier you.

Before attending your first appointment, you will complete a pre-appointment questionnaire. This gives us vital information on your health concerns, medications, medical history, dietary habits and lifestyle factors. Our doctors will use this information to help determine your current physical and emotional state.

You will receive a pathology script to have blood tests taken at a pathology collection centre at least three days before your first appointment. These blood tests provide important information for the doctor to understand your biochemistry and current metabolic health.

Your first appointment will be with one of our doctors. During this appointment, the doctor will get to know you and gain a deep understanding of your health and wellbeing as well as your goals. The consultation will involve a physical examination and a review of your medication, blood results and information from your questionnaire. The doctor will create a shared plan for the Low Carb Keto Health team so they can fully support you on your journey.

Where possible, you will see the dietitian immediately after you have seen the doctor. The dietitian will provide nutritional strategies based on the Shared Plan created by the doctor. In addition, you will receive information on how to get started on your low carb keto program and what to expect as your body adjusts.

Now that you are following your low carb keto health program, you will attend a series of review appointments with the doctor to monitor your progress and key health markers. These review appointments are essential if you are on medication to manage a diagnosed health condition. The frequency of the appointments will depend on your circumstances and the type of health monitoring you require.

We will arrange review appointments with the dietitian for you at week one, week three and then fortnightly until you are happy and confident with your low carb program. We will undertake body composition analysis at each appointment and discuss your progress and any side effects or challenges you are experiencing. The dietitian will also look at your gut health, macronutrients and review your micronutrient and vitamin needs.

As you continue on your low carb keto health program, your healthcare team will continue to monitor your health and progress as required. Our goal is to help you live a healthier, happier life by using a natural, evidence-based approach to nutrition and lifestyle. We may perform further blood analysis or other examinations along the way to help you manage your health conditions safely, without medication.

*There are certain circumstances or health conditions where we cannot treat a patient or where a low carb ketogenic diet may not be suitable. The doctor may determine these circumstances upon review of the pre-appointment questionnaire or during the initial consultation.

A big part of our coaching model is encouraging you to dig a little bit deeper to understand yourself, your behaviours and what's getting in the way. Our lifestyle coaches understand your low carb keto goals and journey. They interact with your low carb doctor and dietitian daily, so you know that they've got your back and will support you to achieve your goals.
