Your Low Carb Keto Health Journey
We take a person-centred approach to care. Each person is different, and their health conditions will affect them differently, so everybody's journey will be unique. We listen, we monitor your health, and we will never try to fit you into a box.
Whatever your low carb keto health journey looks like, you can also choose to work with a lifestyle coach throughout the process. They will help you with practical advice and motivation to help you make lifestyle adjustments and stay on track to a healthier you.
We will ask you to complete a pre-appointment questionnaire before attending your first appointment. This is an important step because it will help us fully understand your medical history, lifestyle factors and health goals.
You will also receive a pathology script to have blood tests taken at a pathology collection centre at least three days before your first appointment. These blood tests provide essential information for the doctor to understand your biochemistry and current metabolic health.
Our doctors will use all this information to help determine your current physical and emotional state.
At your first appointment, the doctor will perform a physical examination and review your medication, blood results and information from your questionnaire. They will also spend some time getting to know you and discussing your health, well-being and future health goals. The doctor can then create a shared plan for the Low Carb Keto Health team so they can fully support you on your journey.
Where possible, you will see the dietitian immediately after you have seen the doctor. The dietitian will provide nutritional strategies based on the Shared Plan created by the doctor. In addition, you will receive information on how to get started on your low carb keto program and what to expect as your body adjusts.
Once you get started on your personalised Low Carb Keto Health program, the next step is to attend a series of review appointments. During these appointments, the doctor will monitor your key health markers and see how you progress.
These review appointments are essential if you are on medication to manage a diagnosed health condition. The frequency of the appointments will depend on your circumstances and the type of health monitoring you require.
We will arrange review appointments with the dietitian for you at week one, week three and then fortnightly until you are happy and confident with your low carb program. We will undertake body composition analysis at each appointment and discuss your progress and any side effects or challenges you are experiencing. The dietitian will also look at your gut health, macronutrients and review your micronutrient and vitamin needs.
Now that your Low Carb Keto Health program is part of your daily routine, your healthcare team will continue to monitor your progress as required. We may perform further blood analysis or other examinations along the way to help you manage your health conditions safely, without medication.

Whether that be breaking old habits, getting better sleep, being consistent with your meal planning or gaining a better work-life balance. A big part of our coaching model is encouraging you to dig a little bit deeper to understand yourself, your behaviours and what's getting in the way. Our lifestyle coaches understand your low carb keto goals and journey. They interact with your low carb doctor and dietitian daily, so you know that they've got your back and will support you to achieve your goals.
